Six months ago, Ricardo sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and we operated on him for what it seemed like an eternity. After a tumultuous time in the hospital, he was sent home, carrying a new sense of spirit, a new lease on life.
He came back to me with this scar – a sign of his suffering, a mark forever embedded in him as a reminder of his eternal gratitude to those who stood by him in the most challenging trial of his life.
